CJ Healthcare (CEO Kang Seok-Hee), a subsidiary of Kolmar Korea, is investing 100 billion won to build a new plant to strengthen the IV business.
The new plant of CJ HealthCare is the first large-scale investment project since it was acquired by Kolmar Korea in April of last year. The new factory will be built on the site of the Osong Plant located in the Osong Life Science Complex with a total area of 32,893㎡.
The new IV plant is capable of producing 55 million bags annually, and when the plant is completed, the production volume of CJ HealthCare will increase to approximately 100 million bags.
In 1992, CJ Health Care, which introduced Safe Flex Bag for the first time in Korea, entered the IV business. The company has basic IV, total parenteral nutrition (TPN) IV, and special IV.
Construction of this new IV plant is the largest investment made to expand the business after CJ HealthCare became a subsidiary of Kolmar Korea. Kolmar Korea plans to complete a star business model that focuses on cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and health functional foods through its affiliate CJ Healthcare.
Byun Hyong–Won, an executive director of CJ HealthCare said, "The construction of this new plant is to seek smooth supply of IV and expansion of product lines, and we will strengthen our production capabilities through investment and further strengthen our position in the market."
CJ HealthCare's new IV plant is expected to be completed in 2020 and mass-produced from 2021.
